SADDLEWORTH BEERWALK
B.S.V.S.C.
came late to the Saddleworth Beer Walk. 2002 was the 29th "running"
of the event but members were so taken with it that they resolved to return
before even finishing the first attempt. Now we've done three walks and
this site has been set up in anticipation of returning many more times.
The event has all the ingredients that the founders of the club had in mind
when they met in the Brocket Arms so many years ago; physical exercise (to
a certain extent), social contact with people you might otherwise never
meet and BEER, with the added attraction for photographers of having something
else to take shots of instead the same old running vests every year.
The BeerWalk takes place the day after the Annual
Saddleworth Brass Band Contests which are on Whit Friday that means
the walk is on Whit Saturday, if there is a Whit Saturday, but as Whitsun
is tied to Easter the date of the walk can vary by weeks so it's a good
idea to check the official site for dates before deciding to take part.
